Lance Armstrong responds…
There was a pre-race press conference on the 13th with 10 riders from the 17 teams. A reporter, with whom Lance has an ongoing feud over the issue of his drug use or innocence, accused him of being a “cancer to cycling”. Lance had a smooth, lectured, response.
I wanted a photo of Lance and his Livestrong bracelet. Not only did I get one, it turned out to be my best shot of the day.
The man sitting behind Lance to the right is Phil Ligget, “the voice of cycling”.
The Mayor of Sacramento, Kevin Johnson, former NBA star, hands Lance a “Kevin Johnson For Mayor” bracelet to wear.
